Fender 2017 Limited Edition FSR '70s Ash Jazz Bass Natural w/ Maple Neck 95714
Description (More pics below)
LIKE NEW...70s Jazz Bass - Limited Edition - FSR (Fender Special Run). Per Fender only about 400 made. All Original - NO MODS.
This is the Jazz Bass model and it features two classic sounding Single Coil pickups. The neck pickup is remarkably close to a P Bass while the bridge pickup sounds a bit tighter and brighter compared to a Jazz Bass from the 60's. The reason is that in the 70's this pickup was moved 9mm (3/8") closer to the bridge. At the same time this produces a slightly scooped sound (thanks to phase cancellation) and that's the reason why 70's Jazz Basses have such a killer sound for slapping.
Condition
Cosmetically the bass is near mint. No dings or scratches to be seen. Frets are excellent. All stock, no mods.
Features
— Ash body, maple neck with black block inlays
— 7.25” radius, C-shape chunky 70s neck w/ vintage tall frets
— Period-correct Pure Vintage '74 J Bass Alnico V pickups
Sound & Playability
If you want that vintage 70s look and feel, this bass is the ticket. Black painted inlays and black binding on the neck and beautiful fully figured ash body. Solid chunk of wood at 9lbs, 3oz. Beautiful wood grain all over the body. Neck, frets, and pickups all follow vintage spec. Great playing bass with no issues. Comes with gigbag. I do a full setup and expert packing: details below. Thanks for looking! PS: I ship to most countries in Europe (not France), Asia, and Oceania--contact for quote!
Short video showing how I pack a guitar.
Guitar Setup
Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "Still Kickin - How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

The full-figured ash body looks especially stunning in a natural finish with 3-ply black pickguard. Meanwhile, Fender's chunky "C" maple neck with bound maple fingerboard and block inlays exudes '70s soul. The Fender Pure Vintage ’75 single-coils are punchy and articulate, with a smooth low end that breaks up especially nice into your favorite tube amp. From rock to metal, blues to soul, with the Fender FSR Limited Edition '70s Jazz Bass from Sweetwater, you're ready to take on whatever selection your bandleader can throw at you.
About Me
My store is a one-person small business that has been selling used guitars and basses for 15 years now. I do a basic setup and cleaning on every instrument I sell, so depending on workload it may be 1-2 business days before your guitar ships. When it arrives you can depend on it being, clean, set up, and securely packed. Check my feedback for confirmation. Thanks!
