Fender 1988-89 USA Telecaster +OHSC 9/10 Clean! 80s American Tele E Serial 10114

Description
This is a 1988-89 USA Fender Telecaster in black. It has an E + 6-digit serial indicating a 1988 birth date. Comes with original molded hard case. All stock and in excellent 9/10 condition. One chip on the body, otherwise just swirling that could probably be removed with buffing, and very minor playing marks.

As shown in pics, the frets have lots of meat left with moderate flattening and mild grooving on first four frets, but it plays well all over. Those who are picky about frets could level, but most could play it as it is. I have taken extensive pictures of all parts of the guitar. Pots seem to date 1988 (R13788x). Date on neck heel and neck pocket both say "July 28, 198x" (hard to read final digit). Please look at all pictures and ask all questions before buying. Weight is 8 pounds, 3 ounces. TBX TONE CONTROL
This Tele's Tone pot has a center detent, and is an early TBX tone control, according to my research. Here is Fender's description of the what it does: "This detented, stacked 250k/1 Meg control enhances your tonal palette without the use of a battery. From 0 to 5, the TBX is your standard tone control, but once you pass 5 you start to decrease the resistance, which allows more bass, treble, presence and output to flow to your amp.” (There is a whole page describing the TBX and how it started around 1988 you can find by Googling "premierguitar TBX tone control.")

Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
