Fender 1991 Precision Plus + OHSC TBX Lace Sensor Longhorn Boner P-Bass 12392
Description
This is a 1991 Fender Precision Bass Plus in black finish, made in USA with an E9 + 5-digit serial. These were made for only 4 years and sport a slightly different body shape with deeper cutaways. (These have also been nicknamed the “boner bass" or "longhorn" due to the lengthened horns.) Solid one piece alder or ash body and one piece maple neck. Great features with the P/J Lace Sensor pickups and a Series/Parallel button. The TBX tone circuit makes for a really usable Tone control.
Great tuning setup with the Schaller tuners and Schaller Elite fine tuning bridge (one fine tuner missing). Cosmetically, it’s been played for years but not abused, so has lots of little edge marks and rash, fading, etc. I can’t show it all in photos. Frets have some wear but there is a lot of meat left and it still plays really well. All electronics work, no scratchy pots, etc. Volume knob has some play but it works great. TBX knob does what it’s supposed to and has a center detent.
You literally won’t find anything like this elsewhere in the Fender line, and they are hard to come by. I have just been over this and done a deep clean down to toothpicks and Q-tips, so it’s is ready to go. Weight is 9 pounds, 3 ounces. Comes with I’d guess its original Fender hard case (plus tuner, cable and string winder). In working condition but has that old case smell inside. NOT smoke smell, just old case smell. I will sun it for a while. Should be fine. I do a full setup and expert packing: details below. Thanks for looking!
About Me
My store is a one-person small business that has been selling used guitars and basses for 15 years now. I do a basic setup and cleaning on every instrument I sell, so depending on workload it may be 1-2 business days before your guitar ships. When it arrives you can depend on it being, clean, set up, and securely packed. Check my feedback for confirmation. Thanks!

Guitar Setup
Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, clean and oil fingerboard. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. We do a basic setup since setup is highly subjective you may want to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier anyway. Thanks!
Packing
Search "How to Pack a Guitar + Hot Girls" on YouTube for a video showing how I pack. I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. You can also read my packing blog post on my StillKickinMusic website. If you Google "Still Kickin - How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

Web Info
The Precision Bass Plus is an electric bass made by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation and designed by George Blanda in 1989. It was one of the first American-made Fender basses to feature a 22-fret neck, requiring the company to slightly oversize the body shape and lengthen the cutaways, which distinctly changed the overall look of the instrument. Other features included a solid alder or ash body, a 1-piece maple neck with rosewood or maple fingerboard, adjustable Lace Sensor Precision and Jazz pickups, Schaller deluxe die-cast tuning machines, 3-ply black, parchment or 4-ply brown tortoise shell pickguard, Schaller Elite fine-tuning bridge, 3-way toggle pickup switch, master volume, series/parallel push-push button for the neck pickup and master TBX tone. It was discontinued in 1993. These Blanda PLUS designs are sometimes called BONER BASSES because of the longer horns required to get good balance due to the 22 fret necks.
