FENDER 2005 USA Deluxe Stratocaster SCN Noiseless Bill Lawrence PUs American Strat 60021
Description
This is a 2005 American made 60th Anniversary Fender Deluxe Stratocaster in sunburst finish. These came with SCN (Samarium Cobalt Noiseless) pickups, which were designed by Bill Lawrence to be quieter and have more beef than standard Strat pickups. They are marked "SCN" on the pickups, though it's hard to see. Comes with factory locking tuners, 2-point tremolo, and S-1 switch. Note, it has a 3-ply pickguard but previous owner blacked out the white layer with pen. I have since these pics removed that so you can see the 3-ply look. Shows some mild wear (see pics)--but still looks very clean. Frets are in very good condition. Plays and sounds amazing. Comes with a fitted Fender hard case that has no handle, but all latches and hinges work fine. Weight is 8 pounds, 4 ounces. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking.

Guitar Setup
All our setups are done by our in-house trained luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
More Info
The Samarium Cobalt Noiseless (SCN) series was a line of stacked electric guitar and bass pickups; these were designed by Bill Lawrence with the goal of further reducing noise while improving the "single-coil" tone of the pickup and were fine tuned by Fender. Introduced in 2004, they were similar to the Vintage Noiseless pickups, but Lawrence's research into controlling magnetic eddy currents led him to employ miniaturized samarium cobalt alloy magnets instead of Alnico 5. Samarium cobalt is a rare earth magnet that is more powerful than the Alnico 5 magnets traditionally used in pickup design. The SCN pickups were a standard equipment feature on the American Deluxe series Stratocaster from 2004 to 2010, and were available for the Telecaster and Jazz Bass, but are no longer manufactured by Fender. The Stratocaster SCN pickups have the SCN logo etched on the pickup covers, but the letters are not colored, making them hard to discern. The covers were available in white, black, aged white and parchment, but the Tele sets were offered in black and chrome only. Features include:
Noise-free design
Traditional and samarium cobalt magnetic material
They deliver a wider, softer magnetic field
Special alloys are used in the making of the pole pieces & moderator bars, thereby avoiding inductance leakage and circular currents. This also enabled for control of the eddy current effect
