FENDER 50s ROAD WORN 2008 CLASSIC SERIES STRATOCASTER Black Strat Relic 67423
This is a 2008 Fender 50s Classic Series Road Worn Stratocaster in black, made in Mexico (more coming soon). This was made the first year of the Road Worn series, and unfortunately the Fender shop started to water down their relic work as time went on. Many of the newer Road Worn guitars show much less wear. Look at all the bumps, dings, edge wear, etc, this baby has. All hardware has been worn to a nice dull glow. Fretboard has a faded look, and the back of the neck is worn satin smooth. Medium jumbo frets in great shape. Faded and yellowed plastics and pickguard. Tasteful wear showing the wood under the finish in appropriate places. Even though cosmetically it's worn all over, the neck, frets and electronics are in great shape. Tex Mex pickups sound great. If you like your guitars to feel like a nicely worn pair of blue jeans, this might be the one for you. If you want a heavy relic, go for one of these early ones. Weight is 7 pounds, 5 ounces. No tremolo bar or case. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking.

Manufacturer Info
Those who prize older instruments with the battered look of years on the road and the scars of countless gigs can still have that authentically aged vibe without spending decades on the road themselves. The irresistibly cool look of finish worn through to the wood, rusted hardware, a bruised neck and yellowing plastic parts are yours right away with Road Worn instruments. The Road Worn '50s Stratocaster sounds, looks and feels like it's been there and back, has more than a few miles on it, and then some. With authentic 1950s styling aged to impart a lifetime of wear and tear that has somehow made it get even better, it's a must-have for the Strat player who appreciates broken-in look and vibe.

Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup isˇhighly subjectiveˇyou may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
