FENDER MARK HOPPUS BASS 2015 re-issue Jazz Precision 8 lbs 10 oz! Seafoam 31719
Early 2001 Mark Hoppus Jazz Bass. Killer Seafoam Green finish with the Seymour Duncan pickups.
Description
This is a 2015 Fender Mark Hoppus signature Jazz Bass in Transparent Seafoam Green, in excellent playing and cosmetic condition. These have a P-bass neck and Jazz bass body, Seymour Duncan pickups and single volume control. Stripped down tone machine with massive sustain. This is NOT the same as the other Hoppus basses currently on eBay. Note how others have serial on front of headstock and say "Prescision Bass" in small letters. This bass is one of the Hoppus re-issues starting in 2006 with upgrades that include:
-- Reverses the standard P-bass pickups to give more umph to the D and G strings.
-- The body was made lighter using ash instead of alder.
-- The maple neck is upgraded, using graphite support rods for stability.
-- The headstock decal is the very cool large Precision 70s logo.
-- And the finish is an awesome translucent look--compared to the flat original look.
These upgrades to the bass came after Mark toured with the original design and wanted to improve it. Bass looks near new--9.75/10 condition with one pinprick size mark (shown below). I will set up the bass before shipping and it will be ready to play out of the box. Fast & free shipping in the USA and 30-day return policy. Weight is 8 pounds, 10 ounces (NOTE: It's a full pound lighter than previous Hoppus basses I've sold). No case. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Guitar Setup
My setup on guitars includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. I spray out any pots that are noisy. I turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. I don't claim to be a trained luthier, but I'm able to set guitars/basses for a reasonable out-of-box experience and have had very few complaints. If you're looking for the perfect setup on a used guitar, please expect to take it to a trained luthier who is familiar with your individual playing style and preferences. ps: basses get the same setup minus the new strings. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
