FENDER MARK HOPPUS JAZZ BASS Nice! White Precision Neck 20714
Great looking and playing bass—no issues.
Description
You're looking at a 2011 Fender Mark Hoppus P-Bass in Transparent White. Great playing bass that has minor players wear mostly on edges. This is NOT the same as the early generation Hoppus basses you might see. Note how some have the serial on front of headstock and say "Prescision Bass" in small letters. This bass is one of the Mark Hoppus re-issues starting in 2006 with extensive changes, including:
-- Reverses the standard P-bass pickups to give more gain & warmth to the D and G strings.
-- The body was made lighter using ash instead of alder.
-- The maple neck is upgraded, using graphite support rods for stability.
-- The headstock decal is the very cool large Precision 70s logo.
-- And the finish is an awesome translucent look--compared to the flat original look.
These upgrades to the bass came after Mark toured with the original design and wanted to improve it. Fast & free shipping in the USA and 30-day return policy. Weight is a comfortable 8 pounds, 10 ounces (NOTE: This Hoppus is a pound lighter than some others I have had. Nice!) No case. SEE PICS BELOW. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Extra Info
Fender’s Mark Hoppus Jazz Bass--distinctive since its 2002 introduction as a Jazz Bass with a split single-coil Precision Bass® pickup--now has a new sonic formula. For the updated version of his signature model, Mark has reversed the pickup, with the upper half now on the treble side, delivering supercharged throat and fullness from the D and G strings; and the lower half now on the bass side, adding focused snap and brightness to the E and A strings. A unique modification for nonconformists.
Features include an ash body, maple neck with modern “C” shape and 1.625” nut width (wider than the 1.5” standard for Jazz basses), rosewood fretboard with 9.5” radius and medium jumbo frets, reversed Seymour Duncan Basslines SPB-3 Quarter Pound split-coil Precision Bass pickup, single chrome volume control knob, combination string-through-body bridge with a Mark Hoppus plate and Standard Series saddles and screws, and a one-piece Jazz Bass pickguard.

Guitar Setup
My setup on guitars includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. I spray out any pots that are noisy. I turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. I don't claim to be a trained luthier, but I'm able to set guitars/basses for a reasonable out-of-box experience and have had very few complaints. If you're looking for the perfect setup on a used guitar, please expect to take it to a trained luthier who is familiar with your individual playing style and preferences. ps: basses get the same setup minus the new strings. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
