Fender OPB-51 Precision Bass Reissue Butterscotch P Japan MIJ Uprades! 66637
Description
This is a Fender OPB-51 Precision Bass, made in Japan in mid-2000s. Butterscotch Blonde finish. At some point the neck was replaced by a genuine Fender 51 MIM replacement neck. It sports the chunky U-neck profile just like these Japanese basses all have, 9.5" radius, and the characteristic Tele bass headstock. One thing some players may like is the Fender replacement neck has medium-jumbo frets, unlike the thin vintage frets the original Japanese neck had.
Previous owner upgraded to Hipshot HB7 27:1 nickel tuners ($100) and a Hipshot FM2 string-thru hi-mass bridge ($100). It’s a USA-made solid brass bridge that also allows you to top-load if you prefer.
Pickup and electronics all original and sound great. Big fat, vintage tone. Great looking and playing bass. See pics that show various playing marks, as well as a thin crack extending from the G tuner to headstock edge. Frets are in excellent condition. No case. With better tuners and much better bridge, along with medium instead of thin frets, I think this bass has some advantages over the stock bass. I do a full setup and expert packing: details below. Guitar Setup
Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Thanks!

I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case.
