Description
You're looking at a third year of production 2001 Fender Toronado in orange with offset body and large pearloid pickguard. Discontinued and rare, this is the earlier (and cooler looking) Toro. The orange color is the most hard to find and sought after of the series. Pickups have been upgraded to a pair of Seymour Duncan SH-8 Invaders, known for their face-melting output and definitely better than the original Fender Atomic humbuckers.

These have a body contour on back and rare Gibson scale length of 24.75 inches. Cosmetics: has a fair amount of marks and some mild fret wear (see pics). Overall it still looks good. No case. Weight is 8 pounds, 2 ounces. Guitar has just been completely gone over, cleaned, set up and intonated. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Manufacturer Info

The Fender Toronado was an electric guitar made by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. Introduced at NAMM in 1998, it is a part of the "Deluxe Series" of Fenders produced in Mexico, generally to higher specs than most "Standard" models. The Toronado features two Fender Atomic humbucking pickups, a rosewood fretboard, and four chrome knobs (2 volume and 2 tone). Many models also include a tortoise-shell pickguard. The headstock features the Fender "spaghetti" logo and sports vintage style Gotoh/Kluson tuners. The body shape shadows the designs of Fender's Jazzmaster and Jaguar guitars. The Toronado also has a 24.75" scale length—an unusual feature on a Fender guitar, as this scale length is usually associated with electric guitars manufactured by Gibson.

Guitar Setup
All our setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
 
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments).
