GIBSON 2011 LES PAUL 60s TRIBUTE Goldtop -- Special Relic w/ Greening! p90 11365
Description
You're looking at a very special 2011 Gibson Les Paul Tribute in Goldtop finish that has been expertly reliced. First and most noticeable is the fact that true "greening" was achieved on this goldtop. This is very hard to do correctly. You see some people try and paint on green for the effect, but this guitar has real aged greening, which is a process that happens to goldtop finishes over time (you see it on goldtops from the 50s and 60s).
Other than greening, you should notice that the luthier who did this relic exercised RESTRAINT--it's the element most often missing on relics. The guitar has mild wear around the edges and small marks here and there--it DOES NOT look like it was dragged behind a car for miles, which is the mistake most people make when doing a relic. Rather, it looks like a guitar that realistically has been around for 20 or 30 years and been played but not destroyed.
Features include Gibson Kluson tuners, dual soapbar P90 pickups, and the well-known 60s Slim Taper neck profile. These satin finish Tribute models have a thin nitrocellulose finish that won't choke your tone. Large neck inlays, and aged plastics with gold knobs. Weight is 8 pounds, 1 ounces. Frets are in good condition but show some play wear. No case. You won't find another 60s Tribute that looks like this. I do a full detail and setup on all guitars. (Info on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking.

Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

Two P-90 pickups for vintage tone
The P-90 pickup produces a clean, bell-like tone that gets crunchy when you really lean into it. You'll love the punchy midrange and solid low end that sets P-90s apart from typical single-coil pickups. Many of the Beatles' biggest hits were recorded using P-90 equipped guitars. But the coolest thing about the P-90 pickup is that once you roll off the highs, you can still get the smoky tones we normally associate with humbuckers.
Minimalist design
Gibson opted to omit frivolities such as a bound neck and body. The Les Paul Special '60s Tribute really is more than the sum of its parts: old-school pickups, premium electrical components, minimalist finishing touches, and worn-in feel all merge to make the Les Paul Special '60s Tribute a great guitar any Les Paul enthusiast would love.
Plek'd for precision playability
This Gibson Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute 2016 T feels fast and precise, thanks in large part to Plek processing. Typically reserved for top-dollar custom guitars, this process levels the frets with pinpoint precision, providing you with the most playable fretboard you're likely to own. Each note rings loud and clear, and the fret edges feel smooth as silk.
