This is a 2003 Gibson Les Paul Special double cutaway in satin Cherry finish. These have a thin finish made to let the guitar's tone come through. Dual P90's combined with the all mahogany body and neck produce grit, sustain, and TONE. After 14 years, this guitar is a work of art more than anything--perfectly burnished with just the right amount of wear--so you know she's a girl that's been around--but also been well-treated. Edges artfully showing wood beneath the finish with some tasty flame marks peaking through for good measure. It really looks like the relic guitars the Gibson plant now charges a few grand for. Neck and frets are all buttery and smooth and itching to be played. All electronics sound great. Just given full setup and new strings. Aftermarket hard case included. No disappointments here--just a great guitar. Weight is a very trim 6 pounds, 11 ounces. Note, I may end auction early if it sells elsewhere. Thanks for looking! |
