TONE:
These SG basses have mucho low end. The short scale adds to the beef, and the humbucker in the neck is super fat. Lot of vintage low end sounds to be found but also very versatile. The rear mini-bucker has a more defined bright sound and you can vary your balance between the pickups to grab a multitude of tones.
Description
This is a 2014 Gibson SG Standard Bass in Cherry finish. This is the 30" short scale model--a really nice light 6 pounds, 14 ounces--that's guitar-like weight! Short scale basses actually put out more bottom end than their standard scale peers (less string tension). Bass is absolutely beautiful. 120th Anniversary inlay at 12th fret. Upgraded monster Babicz high mass bridge ($160 value). Looks like some kind of marvel of engineering the Egyptians designed to go in the pyramids! Volume/Volume/Tone controls. Thin matte finish doesn't choke your tone. Nearly no wear beyond a little honest edge mark (see below) . Set up great. Playing great. Neck and frets are in excellent shape. Currently set up with flat wound strings. Comes with original factory papers. No case. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking.

Guitar Setup
All our setups are done by our in-house trained luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
