GIBSON SG-X 1998 Super Rare! Caribbean Blue! Ebony Board Nice! 98407
Single humbucker SG in rare Caribbean Blue.
Description
You're looking at a 1998 Gibson SG-X in the rarest of colors for this model, Caribbean Blue. This is part of the "Summer Beach Series" that was produced only two years (1998-99). I have bought and sold many SG-X guitars and after eight years, I've only come across three in the Blue color. These are ridiculously hard to find so grab it fast. Otherwise it could be years before you see the next one. This particular SG-X is in pretty clean condition, maybe 8/10 condition. Cosmetically, the finish looks great with a TON of checking. I love the look of checking, but it's a personal thing. The Carib Blue starts to yellow slightly in some places, again looks like nice aging to my eye. Previous owner upgraded the pickguard to pearloid and white knobs, as well as a Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 humbucker. It no longer has the stock coil split switch. It has three spots on rear edge where it looks like someone filled some holes made for additional strap pins (see pics). Neck, frets and ebony fretboard are all nice. Frets are 90%. These have 24-fret, two octave necks that set up and play really amazing. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. Weight is 7 pounds, 1 ounce. Currently set up with 11 gauge strings. No case. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking.

Guitar Setup
All our setups are done by our in-house trained luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
