KRAMER 70s Vintage 450B Bass Very Nice + Hard Case 21610
Description
This is a vintage 70s Kramer 450B aluminum neck bass. It's in beautiful condition. Has various playing marks but overall still looks great. The woods on these are beautiful. Believe these have a walnut body and neck with the lighter stripes of maple. This one still has most of the original pickup surrounds which is rare, as they are not super robust.
The bass was just completely gone over with meticulous polishing to all the aluminum, so it shines everywhere though you will see spots where the metal has stains, such as at the tip of headstock. Bridge and saddles super clean unlike most you'll see. I also did a re-crown to the frets, so they have a nice shape to them again, not flattened. I replaced knobs with chicken head type but I'll include the original black ones. Also replaced the output jack with the exact duplicate Switchcraft part.
Neck has a fair amount of relief, but with a shim I was able to bring the action to a nice playable height. However these have no truss rod, so you'll have less control over how low the action can go. Pots date to 1977 and 1978. Comes with hard case. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
