Fender 2003 American Deluxe Stratocaster Strat Noiseless PU + Artec Boost Case 92600
Description (More pics below)
This is a 2003 Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster in black with tolex hard case and trem bar. Great player with some upgrades, including Artec VTC onboard active boost circuit. Weight = 7lbs, 14oz.
Condition
Cosmetically it’s a player with lots of small playing marks but nothing major. Frets are in good condition with some mild, even flattening but lots of life and the rosewood board is in great shape.
Features
— Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard
— 9.5” radius, C-shape neck w/ jumbo frets
— Stock early gen Noiseless pickups + Duncan rails & Artec Boost (see below)
Sound & Playability
This is a great playing 21-year-vintage Stratocaster. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan NECK hot rails model (SHR-1n), so it’s warmer than your average bridge pickup. Middle and neck are the stock Noiseless pickups (this is a lead playing machine, read more below). Stock 2-point tremolo and locking tuners. Plays and sounds great. Comes with a screw-in tremolo bar and black tolex case with white piping in decent shape. Looks like Fender case. I do a full setup and expert packing: details below. Thanks! PS: I ship to most countries in Europe (not France), Asia, and Oceania--contact for quote!
ARTEC ACTIVE VTC BOOST:
This Strat is equipped with an Artec active boost system. The second Tone knob when pulled OUT makes the boost INACTIVE, giving you the normal Strat tones. Pushing IN the Tone knob engages the boost which at "1" is little difference and as you move up to 4 or 5 you're getting very warm tube like overdrive. With the Tone knob at 10 it's full out overdriven sound. This Boost applies in all the pickup switch positions.
To begin with this Strat has a neck pickup in the bridge, so it's already set for fat sounds and the Artec boost just pushes it way into Stevie Ray Vaughan type raunchy blues overdriven territory. This Strat will sound like no other in your collection, able to achieve great lead tones. If you really just want standard Strat tones, it may not be for you due to the pickup and boost mods. You can Google "Artec VTC" and read about it. It draws little current so 9-volts last for years and it has a fresh one in it now. Again, it's a very different sounding Strat probably best for lead guys in blues or rock. Please ask all questions BEFORE buying, so you're sure you want it. (SEE BELOW FOR ARTEC MANUFACTURER INFO) Thanks.
Guitar Setup
Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, clean and oil fingerboard. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. We do a basic setup since setup is highly subjective you may want to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier anyway. Thanks!
Packing
Search "How to Pack a Guitar + Hot Girls" on YouTube for a video showing how I pack. I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. You can also read my packing blog post on my StillKickinMusic website. If you Google "Still Kickin - How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
Manufacturer Info
The Artec VTC Vintage Tone Booster offers a powerful bass response with plenty of volume, yet still delivers clear trebles and an open mid-range. Turned all the way to the left you will get a clean guitar sound with a treble-y tone, move it all the way to the right and a natural sound tube drive will be applied to your guitar.
It's a push-pull knob so simply pull up to disengage the circuit and let your natural guitar tone shine through. The Artec VTC was designed to eliminate noise and augment the natural sound of your instrument. It's tiny current drain will ensure more than 7000 hours of continuous use, so running out of battery won't happen any time soon.
About Me
My store is a one-person small business that has been selling used guitars and basses for 15 years now. I do a basic setup and cleaning on every instrument I sell, so depending on workload it may be 1-2 business days before your guitar ships. When it arrives you can depend on it being, clean, set up, and securely packed. Check my feedback for confirmation. Thanks!
