2003 Gibson Les Paul Double Cut DC Faded TV Yellow - Minor Repair + HSC 63321
Description
Up for sale is a real relic 2003 (first year) Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cut faded guitar in the sought-after TV Yellow finish. This double cut is a real head-turner with classic tone thanks to the two soapbar p90 pickups and mahogany body and neck.
When I got the guitar there was a small V-shaped mark on the back of neck that I thought over time could progress and become a problem. It was minor, but I decided to glue it to head off any issues. It now feels and plays solid. Note, this was not a broken headstock situation, or major crack or break. It was a preventive glue repair.
Condition
Nice wear all over and really looks like a true relic. There are two small holes near the bridge. Frets are in great condition as is the beautiful rosewood board. Tuners were upgraded to Grover kidney beans. All electronics work great. This faded has more mojo than most TV Yellow guitars I see due to its real world play wear.
Sound and Playability
The signature soapbar P90s have the tone we all quest for. The mahogany body and neck combination ensures outstanding sustain and resonance, and the thin finish won't choke your tone. The rosewood fingerboard offers a smooth and responsive playing experience, while the '60s neck profile adds to the vintage feel. Comes with a near new brown hard case. (I do a full setup and expert packing: info at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!
Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
Manufacturer Info
The killer classic double cut with P90 edge and vibrant nitro finish! The nitrocellulose lacquer finish on the Gibson Les Paul Faded Double Cutaway Electric Guitar makes for great looks. But you also get cool feel, wide-open vibrant tone, and a whole lot of guitar for very little cash. Solid mahogany body and set neck add to the resonance and great sustain while classic P90 single-coil pickups provide the sharp bite of the very first Les Pauls. Rosewood fretboard.
