Gibson 60s Les Paul Tribute honey burst heavy relic
MORE DETAILED PICS: GIBSON LES PAUL 60s TRIBUTE HONEY BURST HEAVY RELIC
The Gibson Tribute line makes for great relic candidates. They come from the factory with a thin nitro finish, so it doesn't take much to make them look worn. With this honey burst guitar we tried to take it pretty far, with the idea that it would look like a guitar that had been someone's daily driver since the 50s or 60s. The owner would not have been concerned with keeping it a museum piece, instead treating it like a carpenter would a good tool, like a hammer he used to pound nails everyday. The creme colored P90s make for a great look (and sound), and we think it looks good both with and without the pickguard. We chose to buff the back to a shine and like how it offsets with the matte front of the guitar. We try to make every piece on a guitar like this look worn--look at the tiny screws on the truss rod cover and pickups, even the strap pins and jack plate nut get treated. All plastic parts take a beating as well, though looking now we might have done something to dirty up those knobs a bit more...oh, well, live and learn! (see original listing with price)
