You're looking at a vintage 1981 Gibson Sonex-180 Deluxe in black ebony finish. Nicely balanced guitar that really plays great. Innovative "resonwood" body renown for intense sustain. This was Gibson's shot at making bolt-on Les Paul like guitars, and these are now some of the best bang for buck guitars around. Bill Lawrence designed some of the humbuckers that went in these and they sound amazing. This is a player but it's in good playing condition with no issues. All original except for the sectioned piece of pickguard, which actually is a good mod to add stability to these. (The jack was a weak point.) Truss rod cover and strap pins also not original. Back of neck obviously sanded for faster playing. All controls work as they should. Plenty of little marks all over. No case. Weight is 9 pounds even. Where else can you get a 37-year-old vintage Gibson for $499? Answer: nowhere! I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.)
