Gibson 2014 Les Paul Melody Maker Dual P90 Worn Nitro Black Satin 22228
Description
This is a 2014 Gibson Melody Maker in black finish. It's really a great guitar with the two P90 pickups and traditional wraparound bridge you get lots of the classic Gibson tone and sustain. Thin nitro black satin finish without the gobs of clearcoat to choke your sound.
All mahogany archtop body and 50s rounded neck with a rosewood fretboard--again classic. Gibson Kluson style tuners with white button heads. There is a large inlay at the 12th fret that says "120th Anniversary." These have a thinner body than a standard Les Paul so it's nice and light at 7 pounds, 10 ounces. Cosmetically it's in good condition. The shiny patches you see are just where the finish has been rubbed the most. It's got some cool wear marks around the edges for a mild relic look. Frets are A+ condition. Comes with original papers and a one of a kind full leather Gibson strap. It's one of the nicest I've seen. No case. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
Manufacturer Info
The Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker solidbody electric guitar sports a slim mahog body that's lightweight and comfortable to play. Originally introduced as a student model (much like the Les Paul Junior), the Melody Maker became a player's favorite for its light weight, comfortable neck, and great tone. You've got two P-90 single-coil pickups which many players consider more versatile than humbuckers. And you'll have a solid foundation for both rhythm and lead playing, thanks to the '50s rounded neck profile.
Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
Wide-ranging tone from dual P-90 pickups
The classic feel of the '50s rounded neck profile
Great looking nitro finish
The Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker is fitted with two P-90 pickups. Gibson's first successful single-coil pickup, the P-90 can be heard on countless classic recordings. With its biting treble and high output, the P-90 cleans up nicely when you roll back your guitar's volume pot. And when you hit your amp hard, the P-90 really wails.
The Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker wears a gorgeous nitrocellulose laquer finish. Nitro finishes - standard back in the '60s and '70s - are significantly thinner than today's polyurethane finishes, allowing the guitar to "breathe." Nitro finishes not only look vintage-y wonderful; they also enhance the instrument's tonal qualities.
