Fender 1992 Vintage Precision Bass Plus Deluxe USA American Red P + OHSC 00282
Description
This is a 1992 vintage Fender Precision Bass Plus Deluxe in Lipstick Red finish. Super clean condition and comes with original hard case. These basses are notable for having a Kubicki preamp, trimmed down body, small headstock and Schaller Elite hi-mass bridge with fine tuners. Comes stock with P- and J- Lace Sensor pickups. Really nice balance to this bass and the neck feels great. This was top of the line in its day right behind Custom Shop instruments.
Controls on the bass are two stackpole knobs with Volume/Balance and active High/Low EQ. Cosmetically this 30-year-old bass has been babbied. No dings or scratches, you’ll only see very minor scuffing from playing. These have a one-piece C-shape, 22-fret maple neck--9.5" radius and 34" scale. Has a narrow nut more like a Jazz bass. It plays like butter. Frets in very good condition. Only made for two years. Pretty rare to find. Higher quality than most Fender basses made today. Weight is 8 pounds, 11 ounces. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Guitar Setup
All our setups are done by our in-house trained luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
Manufacturer Info
The Precision Bass Plus Deluxe is an electric bass made by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation and designed by George Blanda in 1989. It was one of the first American-made Fender basses to feature a 22-fret neck. Other features included a solid alder or ash body, a 1-piece maple neck with rosewood or maple fingerboard, adjustable Lace Sensor Precision and Jazz pickups, very high quality Schaller deluxe die-cast tuning machines, and a high mass Schaller Elite fine-tuning bridge.
The Precision Bass Plus Deluxe does not have a pickguard. The Plus Deluxes also have active EQ, so there will be a battery as well. The jack is on the lower bout, not on the pickguard. This is the forerunner of today's American Deluxe Precision which replaced it in the line-up in July 1995. The Plus and the Plus Deluxe shared premium Schaller manufactured hardware similar to the Elite versions that came out during the waning days of Fullerton.
