Description (More pics below)
Up for sale is a 2009 (2nd production year) Fender Road Worn '50s Telecaster in blonde, with a maple fingerboard. Compare to others out there. Fender started to water these down after 2009/2010. Paint distress, checking, worn fretboard--the works. Weight is a very light 6lbs, 14oz!

Condition
It has a nitrocellulose-lacquer finish that’s been aged at the factory for that classic “played-in” look. Great condition. Frets are clean. No electronics issues. Plays great all over the neck. I have just gone through and completely detailed the guitar. So it looks worn, but it's clean as a whistle. Plugged in today and wow! that vintage Tele vibe comes right out the amp...ps: upgraded mini-Grover locking tuners, one slightly bent, but they work perfect.

Sound/Playability
The Tex-Mex pickups give it a bright, punchy tone. Narrow jumbo frets, chunky C-shape neck with a satin sanded back so your hand slides easy. Vintage specs with the 7.25" radius and "Pat. Pend" ashtray bridge and 3 barrel saddles. Look at the wear pattern on that pickguard...sweet!

Beautiful bumps, dings, edge wear, etc. All hardware has a patina of wear. I tried to show some of the very cool body checking in the pics Fretboard has aged look with finish missing. If you like your guitars to feel and play like a well-worn pair of blue jeans this might be for you. Gig bag included. I do a full setup and expert packing: details below. Thanks!

Features:

  • Worn 1950s-style body, neck, and hardware
  • Maple neck with “C” shape
  • 7.25" radius maple fingerboard with 21 narrow jumbo frets
  • Tex-Mex™ single-coil pickups with 3-way switch
  • Vintage-style Tele bridge with 3 barrel saddles
  • Nitro finish for a vintage feel and tone

Recent Review:
"Guitar was packed perfectly for shipping. Everything arrived exactly as described. A lot of care and attention was put into the setup (intonation is perfect). Seller was nice enough to include some extras. Excellent seller! Thank you so much!"

Short video showing how I pack a guitar.

Guitar Setup

Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Thanks!

Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "Still Kickin - How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

About Me
My store is a one-person small business that has been selling used guitars and basses for 15 years now. I do a basic setup and cleaning on every instrument I sell, so depending on workload it may be 1-2 business days before your guitar ships. When it arrives you can depend on it being, clean, set up, and securely packed. Check my feedback for confirmation. Thanks!
