Fender 2009 Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Black Rosewood Fretboard 72914
Description (more pics below)
You're looking at a 2009 Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster in black finish. Excellent condition except for one big ding on lower edge. Made before Fender switched to Pau Ferro fretboard, which is a big plus. Features:
— Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard
— C-shape, 9.5” radius neck, medium-jumbo frets
— Hot Jazzmaster pickups w/ Lead & Rhythm circuits
Made in April 2009, this 15-year-vintage Classic Player Jazzmaster has an offset body for a great look and iconic Fender Adjust-o-Matic bridge with vintage tremolo. Cosmetically, it’s great except for the one ding that happened when the guitar was shipped to me. Because it’s on the side, you hardly see it from the front. I’ve priced the guitar about $300 lower than I’ve sold these in the past, so a good deal for the right person. Frets are in very good shape with some minor wear. Weight is 8 pounds, 4 ounces. NO CASE. I do a full setup and expert packing: details below. Thanks for looking!
Switching:
Just in case you're not familiar with this model, the switching is set up in the vintage fashion, the way the Jazzmaster was originally envisioned by Fender. That means the black slide switch above the pickups when up is in normal or "lead" mode. In lead mode, the white 3-way pickup switch and Volume/Tone knobs down below work just like any normal guitar. The black switch in down position engages the "rhythm" circuit which uses only the neck pickup and the two black controls for volume/tone, and it has a much warmer "jazzy" sound. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Guitar Setup
Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "Still Kickin - How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
