Description
You're looking at a 2009 Fender Classic Series 50s Road Worn Stratocaster in black finish. It is in excellent playing and cosmetic condition. Previous owner upgraded the pickups to D Allen Blade pickups--also known as "Johnny Blades" after the artist, Johnny Hiland he made them for. When they debuted in 2013, they cost $300 and were advertised to have "chime and quack" without the hum of usual Strat pickups. Early road worn with more attention to detail than the current crop. The relic job includes faded and yellowed plastics and pickguard. Tasteful wear showing the wood under the finish in appropriate places, such as tummy cut, armrest, etc. I really like what the Fender shop did on this relic--really worn looking with lots of paint missing. Though worn, it plays and sounds amazing. Attention to detail is pretty amazing for a guitar in this price range. Detailed relic work usually costs a lot more than this. Back of neck nicely worn for a faster satin feel. If you like your guitars to feel like a nicely worn pair of blue jeans, this might be the one for you. No case or tremolo arm. Notch has been cut in pickguard for easy access to truss rod adjustment. Weight is 7 pounds, 9 ounces. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!
