Fender 90s HMT Precision Bass Semi-Hollow MIJ - Piezo & Lace Sensor + Case 06919
Description (More pics below)
What it is
Up for sale is a rare early-90s (91/92) Fender HMT semi-hollow bass with f-hole, made in Japan. Super light at 7lbs, 5oz, it has a thin P-style front bound body (possibly poplar) with a 3-piece maple neck and rosewood board. Really wild Jackson-style hockey stick headstock and sharkfin neck inlays.
Condition
Pretty clean example. One mark shown in pics. Otherwise just mild scuffs and a crack in the acoustic-style bridge piece that doesn't seem to affect playing at all. Frets are in good shape.
Features
The electronics include active Lace Sensor P-style pickups and a piezo pickup in the bridge. Controls are Volume, active TBX tone circuit, and pickup blend. It goes string thru body and has a contour neck heel (which oddly says "Fender USA"), as well as Micro-Tilt neck adjustment. The TBX and Blend knobs have a center detent, which is nice. Neck is closer to a Jazz width and it's very thin front to back.
Sound and playability
This bass can produce some really clean and amazing sounds. Light and easy to handle. Pickup balance allows you to subtly mix in the piezo. Another fine example of Japanese craftsmanship and a rare find for someone's collection. Comes with fitted hard case and a strap and tuner (not tested). Cherry on top is my detailed setup and bulletproof packing (read reviews to see the quality of my setups). Please ask any questions before buying. Thanks!

Guitar Setup
Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "Still Kickin - How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
About Me
My store is a one-person small business that has been selling used guitars and basses for 15 years now. I do a basic setup and cleaning on every instrument I sell, so depending on workload it may be 1-2 business days before your guitar ships. When it arrives you can depend on it being, clean, set up, and securely packed. Check my feedback for confirmation. Thanks!
