1981 FENDER LEAD I +HSC VINTAGE Seymourizer / JB PU Natural USA 80s 06950

Fender Lead I in a rare custom finish you won't see again!

This is a nice 1981 Fender Lead I that's been stripped for a natural finish look. Comes period-correct hard shell case from the 80s. The necks on these are pretty well-known and they feel just great. Frets are still in good shape with some even wear. Very nice surprise are the two pickups in this. In the bridge is a Seymour Duncan "Seymourizer II" and the neck is an old JB. Both pickups look to be from the 80s. Read about them in chat rooms. They are legendary early SD pickups. Has a 3-way switch and a Volume control for each pickup. These originally came with only one pickup, so some routing was done on the inside to fit the second pickup. At one point had a tremolo added, but has been removed. Weight is 7 pounds, 15 ounces. Guitar Setup
My setup on guitars includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. I spray out any pots that are noisy. I turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. I don't claim to be a trained luthier, but I'm able to set guitars/basses for a reasonable out-of-box experience and have had very few complaints. If you're looking for the perfect setup on a used guitar, please expect to take it to a trained luthier who is familiar with your individual playing style and preferences. ps: basses get the same setup minus the new strings. Packing
