Description

This is a Fender OPB-51 Precision Bass, Crafted in Japan in mid-2000s. Butterscotch Blonde finish. Great condition. No dings or scratches. Previous owner changed pickguard to white and made a little cutout at base of neck so you can adjust the truss rod more easily.

Pickup and electronics sound stellar. Big fat, vintage tone. These have thin vintage frets and these are in great condition. Only other thing changed on it is the tuners are standard Fender P-bass tuners, no longer the “reverse wind” style. Great looking and playing bass with no issues. No case. Guitar Setup

All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Thanks!

Packing

I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. This reissue of the Fender '51 Precision Electric Bass Guitar nails all the important details of the original--including the sound. A vintage single-coil pickup halfway between the bridge and neck, 2-saddle bridge, gorgeous ash body, and one-piece maple neck and fretboard make up the killer combination that carried the low end of half the top acts of the '50s, '60s, and '70s.
