Fender RARE 1994-95 STS-550 Short Scale Stratocaster MIJ Fujigen Japan 14374
Description (more pics below)
This is a vintage 1994-95 Fender STS-550 Short Scale Stratocaster made in Japan in Candy Apple Red finish. Super rare. Features:
— Poplar body w/ all maple 24” scale neck
— Two-point tremolo and contour neck heel
— Japan hotrod pickups sound great
This is like a standard Strat just shrunk in size (see pic comparing to standard Strat). Nice and light at 7 pounds, 3 ounces. Neck is a slender 9.5” radius with a C-shape and stock Gotoh tuners. Frets show some grooving but it plays nice. I was surprised how good the pickups sound. I like them better than most Strats, but that’s subjective. The 2-point tremolo works surprisingly well. Nice contour neck heel. Has Volume/Tone and 5-way switch. Basically unlike short scale Fender Strats made in China, this one actually plays solid and feels like a quality instrument. Keep in mind you are buying a 30-year-vintage instrument that has plenty of playing and fret wear. Comes with original tremolo bar but no case. Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing. Thanks for looking!

Guitar Setup
Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "Still Kickin - How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
