Fender RARE 2010 MB-SD Mustang Bass Japan Domestic Run Stock Duncan PU MIJ 02177
Description
You're looking at a rare Mustang bass made for the Japanese domestic market, so rarely seen in the USA. It was called the "MB-SD" (Mustang Bass-Seymour Duncan), but was also called an "MB98" or MB98-SD." These come with factory installed split-coil Seymour Duncan pickups, so you know it's going to sound more articulate than any Fender stock pickups right from the get-go. Comes with its original Fender case and case keys. Case has the original Fender Mustang case snap neck support.
The bass is a 30" short scale and the Olympic White/tortoise came stock from the factory this way. Alder body, maple neck, rosewood board with a C-shape, 7.25" radius neck and vintage frets. Ridiculously clean condition, I'd call a 9.75/10 overall. Some tiny marks on back too small to capture in pics. Frets in great condition. Super light and fun to play at 7 pounds, 10 ounces. This is a rare bass with one of the last true "Made in Japan" serial numbers that was produced (U+6-digits). I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
