The one-piece 21-fret maple neck is based on a '52 style and it feels great in the hands. A few minor marks around the edges (see pics) and some very light scuffing on back that was too slight to catch in photos. The Japanese craftsmanship is very apparent. When I removed the neck I was struck by the tight fit of the neck heel in the pocket...just wow. Made in 2013, this axe proves they are still giving Fender US a run for their money over there. It plays as good or better than the USA Tele's I've handled lately. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier.
