Gibson 2016 Les Paul 60s Tribute T Goldtop 490 PU 42269
Description (more pics below)
This is a 2016 Gibson Les Paul Tribute in a satin goldtop finish. Nice condition with some light relic wear. A light (8lbs, 2oz) LP that won’t break your back.
Condition
Cosmetically this guitar is clean on top with only a couple tiny marks. The back and sides have playing marks (see pics) that kind of add to the relic appearance that all these Tribute models with their thin finish eventually achieve. The guitar is stock with no mods.
Features
— Mahogany body with maple cap
— Mahogany neck, rosewood board, 60s SlimTaper profile
— 490R and 498T humbuckers & Tune-o-matic bridge
Sound & Playability
The Tribute line gives you a lightweight Les Paul with a thin finish that 1) Let’s your tone come through and 2) wears quickly for a nice relic look. Mahogany woods provide the usual Les Paul sustain and the 490 humbuckers spit some nice tone. Some other nice details--green tulip Kluson tuners, large neck inlays, and aged plastics and gold knobs. NO case. I do a full setup and expert packing: details below. FREE FedEx Ground in USA. International contact for quote. Thanks!
About Me
My store is a one-person small business that has been selling used guitars and basses for 15 years now. I do a basic setup and cleaning on every instrument I sell, so depending on workload it may be 1-2 business days before your guitar ships. When it arrives you can depend on it being, clean, set up, and securely packed. Check my feedback for confirmation. Thanks!
Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

50's Build
During the 50's the Les Paul was a real big and heavy guitar. There was no such thing as weight relief back then and people liked big and chunky necks that you could really dig in to without causing any kind of damage.
This guitar takes the same size and shape of the 50's Les Pauls but updates it with some modern weight relief in the Mahogany body that is topped with a beautiful piece of maple. This means that you can play for longer without the back and neck strain that so many players associate with the Les Paul at longer gigs.
The neck has not been changed much. In fact it still uses the same rounded 50's style neck profile that has been offered on guitars for years as part of the Gibson line-up. Made out of mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard this guitar is a joy to play especially for Les Paul traditionalists.
Hot Pickups
One of the biggest tricks this guitar has up its sleeves is the pickups that are installed. The 50's tribute features a pair of the rather hot but vintage inspired 490R and 498T pickups that are incredibly popular for a wide range of styles.
By playing with the volume and tone controls you can dial these pickups back to get classic PAF tones or turned up they deliver a much hotter sound perfect for more modern rock and metal styles where fast attack and great response are key to getting your sound.
Vintage Hardware
Just like the original 50's LP this guitar doesn't feature any kind of crazy modern hardware. No this guitar has simple but extremely solid parts that will keep the guitar feeling and sounding great for years to come.
With a very traditional stopbar tailpiece that has been used for nearly the entire life of the Les Paul and some classic green key style tuners not only does it look superb but it has the stability and feel of a premium guitar that has been around for a long time.
Professional Set Up
As part of the 2016 line this guitar has received a premium set up even before it has gone through our QC checks. This means that you can take this guitar out of the box on day one, go straight to your gig and rock up without any issues with the guitar at all.
No longer do you need to wait for a few days while you get your guitar. We all know that you want to get using a new guitar as soon as possible so Gibson have made sure you can do just that.
