Description (More pics below)
This is a 2012 Gibson Grabber G-3 reissue in black thin matte nitro finish. Great condition. Comes with original Gibson gigbag.

Condition
Cosmetically the bass is in very good condition with only some small marks around the edges, scuffing on guard, basic mild play wear (see pics). Frets are in very good condition. All stock, no mods.

Features

— Maple body, 34” maple neck, baked maple fretboard

— Super punchy, powerful sound

— Massive 3-point bridge, Grover shamrock tuners

Sound & Playability

The bass has 3 switch positions, all of which are humbucking (bridge/middle, bridge/middle/neck, neck/middle). So each switch position “bucks” hum and is super powerful. I don’t know what they put in these pickups but it’s gonna blow away your Fender P or J bass. Total monster. Huge hi-mass top load bridge for great sustain. Thin but large body, Great tuners on unique V-shaped headstock. It’s a one of a kind bass. Weight is 10lbs, 1oz. I do a full setup and expert packing: details below. FREE FedEx Ground in USA. Int’l contact for quote. Thanks for looking!
PS: I ship to most countries in Europe (not France), Asia, and Oceania--contact for quote!

About Me
My store is a one-person small business that has been selling used guitars and basses for 15 years now. I do a basic setup and cleaning on every instrument I sell, so depending on workload it may be 1-2 business days before your guitar ships. When it arrives you can depend on it being, clean, set up, and securely packed. Check my feedback for confirmation. Thanks!

Short video showing how I pack a guitar.

Guitar Setup

Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Thanks!

Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "Still Kickin - How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

Manufacturer Info

The Gibson Grabber '70s Tribute Bass honors Gibson's heritage as bass innovator. From Jack Bruce to John Entwhistle to Krist Novoselic, Gibson's basses have powered some of the heaviest rock ever made. And who could forget Gene Simmons onstage in full Kiss regalia, gripping his Gibson Grabber? Instead of the moving humbucker of the original Grabber, the '70s Tribute is fitted with three hot single-coils and a unique switching scheme that give you a broad range of fat punchy tone with low noise. Set yourself apart as a bassist, with the Gibson Grabber '70s Tribute Bass (CONTINUED AT BOTTOM)

Gibson Grabber '70s Tribute Electric Bass at a Glance:

  • You're in good company with a Gibson bass
  • Innovative electronics give you a broad range of great tone - and no noise
  • Nitrocellulose lacquer finish, for the look of a well-aged classic

You're in good company with a Gibson bass

When talkin' bass, Gibson may not be the first company that springs to mind, but when you think about it, Gibson has produced some pretty wild basses. Pull up some live Cream on YouTube and you'll see Jack Bruce holding down the low end on an EB3. Of course, Thunderbirds (reverse and non-reverse) were John Entwhistle's instruments of choice for a number of years with the Who. Gibson launched the Grabber in '73, and a few years later, it became Gene Simmons's weapon of choice. Then there's Krist Novoselic of Nirvana, who favored Gibson's RD. So you see, you're in very good company with a Gibson bass in your hands.

Innovative electronics give you a broad range of great tone - and no noise

The Gibson Grabber '70s Tribute Bass Sports three single-coil G3 pickups and a unique switching arrangement. A vintage-style 3-way switch gives you neck and middle pickups, bridge and middle, or all three pups together. In all three of these switching options, the pickups operate in humbucking configuration, giving you the punch of single-coils - without the noise. It's the best of both worlds.

Nitrocellulose lacquer finish, for the look of a well-aged classic

Gibson's Grabber '70s Tribute Bass wears a gorgeous nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Nitro finishes - standard back in the day - are significantly thinner than today's polyurethane finishes, allowing the guitar to "breathe." Nitro finishes not only look vintage-y wonderful; they also enhance the instrument's tonal qualities. This bass has the look and feel of a well-aged classic.

Gibson Grabber '70s Tribute Electric Bass Features:

  • Comfortably contoured maple body; full 34" scale
  • Maple neck with baked maple fingerboard, 20 frets, and dot inlays
  • Chrome 3-point bridge; Grover Shamrock tuners
  • Three G3 single-coil pickups; vintage-style three-way switch
  • All switching options operate in humbucking configuration
  • Gig bag included
