Description
This is a 2014 Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker in satin Wine Red finish that has been meticulously reliced to appear to have many loving years of use. It comes with a nice Epiphone fur-lined hard case with key and Gibson paperwork. Wood exposed in appropriate places like arm contour and tummy cut with some beautiful grain showing. Every single piece of hardware has been aged and dulled for a vintage appearance. It does have a pickguard shown in a few photos though I think it looks better without it. Multiple time intensive processes using machinery, chemicals, and hand working were employed to bring the guitar to its current condition. All parts remain factory original except for knobs, which were changed for cosmetic reasons. Frets and fingerboard are untouched and in perfect condition. Back of neck was sanded down to 5000-grit and is glassy smooth. These have dual P90s and a wraparound bridge with 50s rounded neck. Mohag body with contoured maple top and thin nitrocellulose finish. Maple neck with R-wood fretboard. Thin body trim weight at 7 pounds, 3 ounces. If you don't want to spend a few thousand for a Custom Shop relic, this is an affordable alternative with looks that will turn heads. Action low, set up with 10s and ready to rock. See Gibson specs at bottom. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) I may end auction early if it sells elsewhere. Thanks for looking!

What You Get
-- Full setup, cleaning, and new strings.
-- FREE USA shipping.
-- 30-day return policy.
-- Ship within 1 business day--pro packing.
Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

Manufacturer Info
The Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker solidbody electric guitar sports a slim mahog body that's lightweight and comfortable to play. Originally introduced as a student model (much like the Les Paul Junior), the Melody Maker became a player's favorite for its light weight, comfortable neck, and great tone. You've got two P-90 single-coil pickups which many players consider more versatile than humbuckers. And you'll have a solid foundation for both rhythm and lead playing, thanks to the '50s rounded neck profile.
Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
Wide-ranging tone from dual P-90 pickups
The classic feel of the '50s rounded neck profile
Great looking nitro finish
The Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker is fitted with two P-90 pickups. Gibson's first successful single-coil pickup, the P-90 can be heard on countless classic recordings. With its biting treble and high output, the P-90 cleans up nicely when you roll back your guitar's volume pot. And when you hit your amp hard, the P-90 really wails.
The Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker wears a gorgeous nitrocellulose laquer finish. Nitro finishes - standard back in the '60s and '70s - are significantly thinner than today's polyurethane finishes, allowing the guitar to "breathe." Nitro finishes not only look vintage-y wonderful; they also enhance the instrument's tonal qualities.
