GIBSON SG SPECIAL 70s TRIBUTE T SATIN Black Alnico mini-Humbuckers 26037
All electronics, neck, frets are solid. It's ready to play and enjoy. I think the creme pickguard and pickup surrounds and gold knobs look amazing on this guitar. Cosmetically 8/10 with some small edge marks (see pics). Back of neck has been sanded for a soft satin feel. Weight is a comfortable 6 pounds, 14 ounces. This limited edition guitar was only made for a couple years. I've sold these before and they go fast, so grab it before someone else does! No case. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking.
TONE
Mini-humbuckers are known for a clear brilliant tone. They will break up nicely but can also achieve great clean tones. Very versatile. Obviously this axe is going for a retro 70s vibe so getting vintage sounds will be no problem. Plug into a good tube amp and let your Frampton come alive. The all mahognay body and neck are great tone woods. Thin finish won't impede your tone, so expect plenty of sustain, which will only increase as time goes by and the finish continues to wear.

Manufacturer Info
The SG Special ’70s Tribute offers all the quality and performance that has made the guitar so popular with hard-gigging guitarists since its introduction in 1983, with crucial updates that ally it to many legendary Gibson guitars of the 1970s. Wrap your hand around the unique thin-to-thick neck carve of the SG Special ’70s Tribute—with a profile that starts out slim at the lower frets and becomes increasingly chunky as you slide toward the joint—and you’re rocketed straight back to an age of fierce, fast soloing. In the tone department, it carries a pair of new Dual Blade Alnico Mini Humbuckers for great, vintage-edged tones with plenty of contemporary versatility. To top it off, the SG Special ’70s Tribute looks great in your choice of Vintage Sunburst, Cherry, Ebony Black or Silver Burst finish, all in grain-textured satin nitrocellulose lacquer.
Like the most revered vintage SGs, the SG Special ’70s Tribute starts with a solid mahogany body. This classic tonewood offers superb depth and balance, and is extremely light for optimum playing comfort. Carved to the traditional asymmetrical double-cutaway shape, the SG also offers outstanding upper-fret access. Like many great Gibsons of the ’70s, the neck is made from maple and carved to a profile unique to the era, which measures .800” deep at the 1st fret and increases to .963” at the 12th, with a volute behind the nut to both strengthen the headstock joint and enhance neck resonance. A chocolate-brown baked maple fingerboard carries small block inlays, and terminates in a PLEK-cut Corian™ nut with a width of 1-11/16”.
Guitar Setup
All our setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
