SQUIER VENUS Signed! Courtney Love Autograph Guitar Vista MIJ Japan 15859
Courtney Love's signature axe--autographed!
Description
This is a really cool 1997-98 Fender Squier Venus in the Surf Green finish. This is Courtney Love's signature guitar and is part of the "Vista Series" made in Japan for a very short time. This limited edition guitar was only made for a couple years and they are hard to find, especially in clean condition like this. No major wear to the guitar. The frets look pristine. I think it's hardly been played. Also, it has what appears to be Love's signature. I do not have authentication. I got the guitar like this at a guitar shop. However, I have looked at several items on eBay that have her signature, and it's pretty clear this is really her signature. From the way she writes her "C", to the big loop on the "L" and even the heart she draws above her name, it's dead-on. I've sold these before and they go fast, so grab it before someone else does! You'll see from pictures there are no major dings or scratchs on the guitar. Plays and sounds great. No case. Weight is 7 pounds, 9 ounces. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking.
Wiki Info
The Squier Venus (commonly known as Fender Vista Venus) is a signature series guitar released in 1997 and co-designed by Courtney Love in conjunction with Fender's Squier brand, under the Vista series. At the time of its release, Love and Bonnie Raitt were the only two female musicians to have their own signature series of guitars.
Its shape was based on Mercury, Stratocaster and Rickenbacker solidbody guitars. It was released in two configurations, six or twelve string (the Venus XII). Colors available included black, sunburst and surf green. Surf green was named after paint code #57 (surf green) from Chevrolet c. 1957. Upon its original release, the Venus retailed for USD $699.99 and the Venus XII for $999.99. It was discontinued at the end of 1998. Ryan Jarman from UK band The Cribs, a friend of Love's, used the surf green version of the guitar as his main instrument between 2011 and 2015.

Guitar Setup
My setup on guitars includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. I spray out any pots that are noisy. I turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. I don't claim to be a trained luthier, but I'm able to set guitars/basses for a reasonable out-of-box experience and have had very few complaints. If you're looking for the perfect setup on a used guitar, please expect to take it to a trained luthier who is familiar with your individual playing style and preferences. ps: basses get the same setup minus the new strings. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
