Univox 1975 Hi-Flyer Vintage Phase 3 Japan Lawsuit Offset 70s Flier III 08398
Description
This is a vintage 1975 Univox Hi-Flyer in sunburst finish in very good condition. Comes with original chipboard case and tremolo bar. This is the model made famous by Kurt Cobain. Hard to believe how nice this one is at 46 years old. I've shown in pics some of the minor marks, but overall still looks great. Frets are in good condition. Tremolo feels really great, better than most Fender tremolos.
Really a nice playing guitar. Some details: These have poplar body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard. Neck is a D shape with 9 inch radius. Electronics and pickups work and sound great. The pickup switch is a little loose but works. Tuners work fine. I have oiled them, but this type of tuner can be hard to turn when at pitch.
The latches on the case work, but the hinges on back have come apart, so it's not a functioning case, but it could be repaired. Amazing to still even be around after this much time. This guitar is a classic vintage time capsule and will fit well in someone's collection. Weight is 7 pounds, 1 ounce. Please ask all questions BEFORE buying. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

The guitar in video below is not the one I'm selling, but video has lots of examples of different sounds you can get from one of these.

Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
